July 15, 2010
If you've happened by the blog recently, you will have seen that I had a spot of trouble deciding on a name for my newest pattern, so I hosted a contest to get it a name, and that went swimmingly! So I'm proud to announce that my newest pattern, Liberty Stars, is now available for purchase. Read more about it at the right.

In other news, I'm going to be making some big changes to the web site and store over the next few weeks and months. I hope to do lots of rearranging and updating and have some new additions and freshen things up. I might even get a new look, who knows?

But the biggest change will be with the online store itself. I've been busier than a one-armed paper hanger trying to keep everything updated, so I'm experimenting with ways to create a few more hours in my day. In my efforts to make things simpler for myself, I'm going to move all my patterns and kits to my Etsy shop

I love Etsy, and since most of the items I sell are my own, I'm combining the two stores all into my Etsy shop so I'll only have one store to maintain -- whew! It'll take me awhile to get them merged, so both will be open until sometime in August, and when I get finished, it'll be all Etsy!

Of course, you can still always check with your Local Quilt Shop to see if they carry my patterns, and if not, just ask them to order for you -- it'll save you the shipping, since I ship all my wholesale orders free.

I also have some more new patterns coming out soon. Not sure of the dates just yet, but they are definitely in the hopper and rising to the top, so keep checking back.

Oh, and there'll be a couple of other announcements, too. Told you I was busy!

July 1, 2010
I'm astonished that June flew by so quickly that I only posted one update on here. Oh, well, I've been busy on the blog, so there's current news there all the time.

I posted an update to the Necktie Social Project. We got lots of ties in last month!

There's a new recipe in the Prairie Moon Ranch Cookbook for July, great for summertime.

I'm leaving the Easy Strips and Stars table runner as our featured product until July 15th, at which time, I'll have some other new things to announce (if all goes as planned).

I also added a new mini-kit to the online store. It's a kit for the "Oh, BeeHive!" pattern from the "Bees, Blooms, and Butterflies" booklet. The little kit comes complete with everything you need to make it as shown, including the little wire hanger!

I'll be back with more soon . . .

June 1, 2010
I'm so excited because this coming weekend is our guild's annual quilt show. This one is especially special because it's our 25th anniversary of putting on the show. That's a lot of quilts!

If you're anywhere in the Kirksville, MO, area on June 4th or 5th, you really should stop in and visit. We'll have over 130 quilts on display, vendors, a bed turning, a raffle quilt, games and prizes, a community service display, and all kinds of fun stuff going on.

It's at the Rehoboth Baptist Church auditorium located at 100 Pfeiffer Avenue in Kirksville. I'm vending, so if you make it by, be sure to stop in and say hi!

Meanwhile, it's a new month, so I've posted a new special this month. With just enough time to whip one up for the Fourth of July, I've put the Easy Strips and Stars table runner pattern on special. Read more about it at right.

There's also a new recipe in the Prairie Moon Ranch Cookbook. Check it out . . .

And as always, check back, cuz I'll have more news later.

If you arrived here from the Blogger's Quilt Festival, an extra special Howdy and a very warm welcome to you. I hope you enjoy looking around, and I appreciate you stopping by.

If you just happened by another way, then you really should go check out the Blogger's Quilt Festival. It's amazing, and represents some really ambitious work by the gal who puts it all together, Amy, from Amy's Creative Side. Enter a quilt, why don't you?

I've published a little "statistics report" of sorts on the Necktie Social page, just to give you an idea of how the project is rolling along so far. I'll be updating the numbers as more things happen.

May 14, 2010
The first Necktie Social quilt is finished! Woohoo! You can read about it by clicking the Necktie Social link at the left, or by clicking here to read the blog posting about it. And the next one is all set to get rolling, so if you'd like to help out, don't hesitate to contact me and let me know!

Bees, Blooms, & Butterflies is now in the online store. You can read about it at right, read more about it in this blog post HERE, and I'll let you in on a little secret . . . it just might involve a give-away! And I'll have another related announcement next week . . . Gotta go -- I have a million things to get done! Have a great weekend, and don't forget your mother on Mother's Day.

May 4, 2010
It feels like I say this every month, but can you believe it's May already?

I have a new booklet coming out. It's called Bees, Blooms, & Butterflies, and it should be in the online store by the end of the week, barring any unforeseen events at the ol' ranch. For now, you can read more about it at the right, but do check back later, when I'll have photos and more information. You're gonna love it!

I've got a new featured product this month as well. I'm throwing Vintage Square into the spotlight this month. This quilt has such a fresh clean look, perfect for the season we're heading into . . .

There's a new recipe in The Prairie Moon Ranch Cookbook -- one last hoorah before warmest weather. Check it out!

I'll be back real soon with more news, more pictures, and who knows what all, so check back.

April 21, 2010
I've posted a brief update on the Necktie Social, and I'll have an even bigger one soon. The first quilt is almost finished, so stay tuned.

I'm heading out to Paducah for the AQS Show tomorrow, so I'm way over excited about that.

And my newest pattern will be coming out shortly after I get back, so don't forget to check in again. Meanwhile, you can always get the most current scoop over at the blog

April 8, 2010
Here it is, already a full week of April gone by, and I'm a little late updating the web site! Time just got away from me. It took me a few days to even realize it WAS April -- I've had my nose to the grindstone!

Read about A Little Pink at right -- it's our featured product this month. It's a great deal, and I thought it was appropriate for spring . . .

The Cowgirl Club packets for this quarter have shipped! It's never too late to join, however, so click here to read more about it, if you'd like to become one of our Quilting Cowgirls, too.

There's a new recipe in The Prairie Moon Ranch Cookbook. Try this once, and you'll never grate another carrot!

I'll have a lot more news as the month wears on, so check back regularly, here and on the blog. I have a new booklet coming out with some really cute summertime projects, an update on the Necktie Social, and lots of other interesting stuff.

March 19, 2010
There's a lot going on this month, but particularly, a lot going on tomorrow, March 20th. Read on . . .

I'm headed out this evening to our guild's annual retreat. Just so happens that this year's retreat coincides with National Quilting Day! What better way to spend National Quilting Day than at a Quilt Retreat?

Since tomorrow IS National Quilting Day, I'm running a one-day-only special in the online store. For March 20th only, you get FREE shipping AND one free fat quarter of fabric with any order you place. There's no minimum, no catch -- just place an order for something in the online store, and you'll get a free fat quarter and free shipping -- just this one day, March 20th, National Quilting Day.

Oh, and before I forget, I need to mention that I've now added PayPal to the online store, so in addition to credit cards, you can now pay for your order with PayPal. Just makes it easier for some folks, and I'm all about that!

I'd also like to bring it to your attention that March 20th is National Agriculture Day, the culmination of National Ag Week across the nation, so help celebrate with us by thanking a farmer! And if you are a farmer, give yourself a big pat on the back, and THANK YOU!

March 20th is also the first day of Spring. Told you there's a lot going on! We have snow in our forecast, but I'm not going to let that bother me. It shouldn't hang around for long.

I hope you have your own way of celebrating all of the above, and have a lot of fun doing it. If it's just so much fun you have to tell someone about it, drop me a line and tell me the story -- I'm always in for hearing a good yarn-spinner! I'll be spinnin' my yarns over on the blog -- see you there . . .

March 2, 2010
There's a lot going on this month, but what else would you expect during National Quilting Month?

Our newest pattern is finally in the store: Prairie Moons and Stars. You can read all about it at right. Psst . . . there might be a give-away for a free copy or two over on the blog -- don't tell anyone (it'll give you a better chance of winning)!

We have a new special running all this month on the Nickels and Dimes Charm Packs. There's a limited number, so if you're wanting some, don't delay! You can read about it at the right as well.

The Cowgirl Club is in full swing, and we're making stellar progress on the Necktie Social Project, thanks to all our lovely and talented volunteers.

I've posted a new recipe in the Prairie Moon Ranch Cookbook, another of my favorite comfort-foods during winter, which I'm really hoping is about to loosen its hold on us and let spring get here . . . soon, please!

Later this month, our new Block-of-the-Month program will be out, and as usual, it's full of bonuses and surprises, so keep your eyes peeled for further news on that.

I'm teaching a workshop on color next week for a wonderful group of ladies in my own local area, and I'm really looking forward to it.

And, my local guild is having a retreat on the weekend of National Quilting Day. Thankfully, there's the adage that you can't ever have too much fun! I'll be trying . . . you should join me!

Keep an eye on the blog for more up-to-date news, and keep checking back in with us often!

I know it's a bit late, since the Fourth of July is already past, but that's just how I seem to operate. And since Americana is "in" anytime of year, who cares, huh? Plus, if you're like me, you can just consider it getting an early start for next year. I know I'd need the extra time!

So without further ado, I'd like to introduce to you:

This pattern makes a pair of patriotic buntings, although I'm only showing one here so that you can see it closer up. Each bunting measures 40" across and hangs down 20" at the lowest point. They're made in one piece for ease of working with them, then cut apart as you get close to done. You can also use the pattern to create a round table topper or a Christmas tree skirt (just use Christmas fabrics instead).

The pattern includes instructions for making the pair of buntings as shown, but also includes the instructions for creating a table topper or the Christmas tree skirt as well.

Full size templates are included, so you don't have to worry that you're going to have to figure out how to draw those circles. It's all done for you . . . cuz that's just how I am!

There's a new booklet out. It's chock full of cute summertime projects just in time for . . . SUMMER!

It's got 6 fresh summertime projects ranging from a mini wall-hanger, to a table mat, and 3 quilts in various sizes. The largest is a twin-sized quilt.

All centered around a theme of . . . you guessed it . . . bees, blooms, and butterflies, the projects contain embroidery, easy applique, and easy piecing. They're suitable for any skill level, and trust me, they are FUN to make!

You can read more about it on this blog post here: Bees, Blooms, and Butterflies.

We now also have mini-kits for the "Oh, BeeHive!" pattern featured in the booklet. The kit comes complete with everything you need to make the little quilt, even the hanger. And you don't have to buy the big booklet to get the instructions . . . instructions and full-size applique and embroidery patterns are part of the kit!

Prairie Moons and Stars features big easy applique, so you can get it done quickly using your own favorite applique method.

Use an assortment of fat quarters to bust some stash, or plan out your colors and buy yardage at your favorite quilt shop.

Either way, this 78" x 78" quilt will dress up your ranch shack in rustic style!

All the parts are now available in the online store. I've put a page up here to give you more information about the program. You can get sneak peeks at some of the bonus projects. Just remember: I'm not spilling all the surprises. This really is the most fun you'll ever have with a Block-of-the-Month program!
